“Yet You have made him a little lower than God, and You have crowned him with glory and honour.” Psalm 8:5(AMP)

The Lord God Almighty has exalted the Church as the Body of Christ above all of creation. In His Sovereignty and according to His Wisdom, He placed the first man in charge of the Works of His Hands (Heb.2:7b) but that privilege was lost as a result of the Fall. This was what prompted the Redemptive Programme of God which served the Purpose of restoring man to his prominent position of glory and honour before Him through the Sacrifice of Jesus. (Col.3:1-4) This exalted position reserved for every born again believer is above all the Angels in Heaven and elsewhere.

King David was inspired by a Heavenly Conversation he was privy to in the Psalms and recorded it for our instruction: “When I consider Your Heavens, the Work of Your Fingers, the moon and the stars which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honour.” You have made him to have dominion over the Works of Your Hands; You have put all things under his feet…” (Ps.8:3-6).
The Hebrew word translated “angel” in the aforementioned Scripture is “Elohim”, which literally means “the Godhead”. This actually refers to the Holy Trinity. In other words, God’s Hierarchy or “Food chain”, as it were, goes thus:

(1.) The Trinity or Godhead (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit)

(2.) Recreated Man (every truly born again Christian)

(3.) Holy Angels.

(4.) The devil himself.

(5.) Fallen angels and demons.

(6.) Fallen unrecreated man.

(7.) Animals (aerial, aquatic and terrestrial)

(8.) Insects and bugs.

(9.) Plants (living organisms lacking locomotion)

(10.) Inanimate objects.

Put in a different way, every believer is subject to God alone in terms of the Spiritual Chain of Command hence we worship only the Godhead. (Col. 1:15-18) It is an abomination for Christians to worship angels who are assigned to “do His Word, heeding the Voice of His Word.” (Ps.103.20b)

Due to ignorance, many believers are afraid of satan. Such misled people treat him as though he were a fallen god rather than a fallen angel. In other words, even if he hadn’t fallen, he would still be our servant for the Scripture says “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit Salvation?” (Heb.1:14)

Heavenly Father, we thank You for redeeming us and restoring us to a position of Dominion. O Lord, please open our eyes to the Truth of our New Creation Realities in Christ Jesus. Amen.
