“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of My Mouth.”Revelation 3:16(KJV).

Jesus appeared to John the beloved as he was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day on the Island of Patmos where he was banished to die as a result of the persecution of the Early Church. He gave him a message to deliver to the Seven Churches which were in Asia Minor (Modern day Turkey). The above Scripture was given to the Church of the Laodiceans. It is noteworthy that the Church in Laodicea is a prophetic type and shadow of the Present Day Church or Body of Christ.

If you look closely at the characteristics of the Church in Laodicea, you would realize that is similar to our Present Day Church which is characterized by lukewarmness (being neither hot or cold) and a distortion of the revelation of financial prosperity. However, according to the Lord, we are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked. (Rev. 3:16-18) Jesus the Head of the Church recommends the lukewarm believers/Church to purchase the following items of true wealth:

(1.) Gold tried in the Fire: When the Lord spoke to Moses about the building of the Ark that would carry His Presence, He instructed him to overlay it with pure gold within and without (Ex. 25:10-11). The vessels that will carry the Glory of God in these Last Days must be broken vessels purified through the furnace of afflictions, trials and persecutions.

(2.) White Raiment: This represents righteousness and purity of heart. (Matt. 5:8, Rev. 19:8).

The Scripture declares, But to the Son He says “Your Throne, O God, is forever and ever, a Sceptre of Righteousness is the Sceptre of Your Kingdom. You have loved Righteousness and hated lawlessness. Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the Oil of Gladness more than Your companions”( Heb. 1:8-9).

(3.) Eye Salve: This refers to the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation which enables us to decode the Mind of God. (His Plans, Will and Purposes per time).

Lord, revive us and ignite upon us a fresh Baptism of Fire. O Lord, pour forth Your Spirit upon us afresh in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
