BIBLE READING: ECCLESIASTES 4:9-11; GENESIS 11:1-6
“Then God said, Let Us make man in Our Image, according to Our Likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 (NKJV).
Dominion is given to “them” not to an individual. God said let Us (the Trinity) and let them (a team) have dominion (see Gen. 1:26). One of the Laws of Dominion is Synergy which is a product of unity, hence the popular slogan, “United we stand, divided we fall.”
There are three major laws of dominion:
- God Himself: Through prayer you invite the God of impossiblities to show Himself strong and reveal His Mighty Arm.
All things are possible to them that believe because Faith is the currency of the Spirit.
This entails unity of heart, purpose and language. When a group of people unite their wisdom, faith, strength, resources, etc., together, there is nothing they cannot achieve in life (see Gen.11:6). There is power in partnership. The Scripture declares that two are better than one because they have a great reward for their labour (see Ecc. 4:9).
One of the weaknesses of Elijah during his earthly ministry was that he was a lonely prophet and the Scripture says, “woe to him that is alone” (Ecc.4:10). When Jezebel was after Elijah’s head, he was so discouraged and out of frustration asked God to take his life. The heavenly race is not a personal race like we are used to hearing (though there is a personal side to it) but a corporate race.
There are so many ‘one another’ Scriptures in the Bible like Ephesians 5:21 which says; Submitting to one another in the fear of God. Brethren, we need each other in this Heavenly Race and Assignment God has given us (see Eph. 3:18). There is corporate grace, wisdom, anointing, wealth, etc. For instance it was corporate wealth that ended poverty in the Early Church (see Acts 4:33-37). Let’s learn to synergize with one another in the pursuit of our God given purpose, vision, dreams, etc., because one will chase a thousand and two ten thousand (see Deut. 32:30).
Lord, grant me the grace to trust, synergize and network with other brethren. Grant me the spirit of team leadership in the Body of Christ towards the fulfillment of Your Plans and Purposes on Earth in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
