BIBLE READING: LUKE 6:47-49; PSALM 61:2
“Therefore whoever hears these Sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” Matthew 7:24-25(NKJV).
Life is absolutely predictable. This is so because of principles. The Scriptures make this truth clear: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in It day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Josh.1:8).
Carefully studying the aforementioned Scripture, we can see that it says, “you” [not God] will make your way prosperous and then “you” [not God] again will have good success.” In other words, one’s success and prosperity in life is largely dependent on one’s adherence to principles.
Building your life on the Sure Foundation of the Sayings or Principles of Christ Jesus guarantees stability in your life. King David understood this so well, therefore he boldly declared; “The Law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide” (Psalm 37:31).
Principles simplify life rather than complicate it. The Principles derived from God’s Word serve as an equaliser, creating a sense of equilibrium. Those who obey His Principles are guaranteed rewards while those who disobey them are sure to face the consequences (see Psalm 1). Whenever the rains of blessings, the flood of satanic assault or the winds of adversity arrive at your doorstep, make sure your house is built upon the R.O.C.K. (Revelation Of Christ the King) otherwise, the unfortunate yet inevitable result would be that; “…and immediately it fell. And great was the ruin of that house” (Luke 6:49).
Father in Heaven, we glorify Your Holy Name. Thank You, O Lord, for equipping us with the Principles of Jesus as the Sure Foundation of our lives. Receive the Glory in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
