BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 13:14-15; DEUTERONOMY 29:4; PROVERBS 20:12
And she said unto her husband, “Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.” 2Kings 4:9(KJV).
Perception is stronger than reality. In other words, if your perception is wrong, it affects every other thing you see or do. (see John 4:19) The eyes that look are not exactly the same as the eyes that see. One of the greatest blessings you can have is to have the right perception of the realities around you. (see Exodus 32:17-18).
The Bible talks about the children of Israel and the blindness that came upon them that robbed them of different things throughout their history. Likewise, in this day and time we as Christians have been robbed by wrong perceptions, especially as it regards perceiving rightly the man that God has sent to you.
The destinies of men are in the hands of other men. There are destiny carriers or destiny foundations: They are called fathers. Failure to recognize them, perceive them rightly and respond to them appropriately has been the undoing of many. You do not choose your spiritual father but rather he is chosen by God for you because of the role he is supposed to play in your destiny. Your right perception of him is one of the things that guarantees that you get to your Promised Land.
Almighty Father, open our eyes to see the spiritual realities that are beyond normal men. Cause us to have the right perception of the one you have sent to us, so that we will fulfill the destiny you called us to in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
