BIBLE READING: PSALM 74:20; MALACHI 1:6-14; JOHN 13:34-35
As we countdown to the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, one of the prophecies states very clearly that men shall betray one another (see Matt. 24:10). However, as Christians, we should strive to keep covenant with God and with one another. We must learn to love the Brotherhood (see John 13:34-35).
One of the keys to overcoming the works of the enemy is by having a Revelation of the Blood Covenant (see Rev 12:11).
Any time you pull on the Covenant and it fails to yield to you, it means that you have been breaking or sinning against the Covenant. The key to the Faithfulness of God is keeping covenant with Him, your fathers and the Brotherhood and these are persons you must not fight:
You do not fight fathers as a son, no matter the provocation or offence because fathers are foundational and one’s life source. The Principle of Source and Sustenance states that, “the source of anything is also the sustainer of that thing”. When you fight your father, you destroy your foundation and introduce a generational curse (see Mal. 4:5-6). Rather you honour them for a generational blessing. The Scriptures admonish us to honour our father and mother for long life and prosperity (see Eph. 6:1-3).
It is noteworthy to know that there are three (3) kinds of fathers:
• Our Heavenly Father
• Our Spiritual Father
• Our Natural/Biological Father.
The Bible commands us to learn how to always honour all of them (see Prov. 3:9-10; Mal.1:6, Exo. 20:12).
- COVENANT BROTHERS:
We must not fight our covenant brothers. The Scripture teaches that we should live peaceably with all men. However, there are principles of conflict resolution that we should apply whenever we have been offended by our brother or know that our brother feels offended by our actions and inactions (see Matt.18:15-17; 1 Cor. 6:10-11; Matt. 5:21-26). And until you exhaust these laid down principles, you don’t have any right to arrest, call the police for or charge a covenant brother to court.
As a father, you do not fight your sons because they are your future. The Scripture admonishes fathers not to provoke their children to anger (see Eph. 6:4; Col. 3:21). When Fathers fight with their sons, they destroy their own future because sons are supposed to pass on the legacy and mandate of their father to the next generation. God builds on the the principle called the Father- Son order. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Father in Heaven, please make me a Covenant keeping Christian in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
