“And suddenly a Voice came from Heaven, saying “This is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased.”(Matthew 3:17)

The Lord God Almighty is a God of Process and Procedure. Every institution established by Him has a clearly defined order by which it operates to the maximum capacity. The Bible tells us that “God sets the solitary in families.” (Psalm 68:6) In other words, every single individual is assigned to the Divinely Inspired Institution called the family. Every family, biological or spiritual, has a clearly defined order or hierarchy which is known as the Father-Son Order.

The Father-Son Order is an established ordinance throughout the entire Scriptures. God builds everything using two key formats:
(1.) He builds relationally: (see Heb. 2:10) This is the major basis of the Father-Son Order. God believes in raising sons with whom He has a productive intimate relationship and whom He can deploy as His representatives. (see Mark 3:13-14).

(2.) He builds generationally: (see Psalm 22:30) This means that God believes strongly in posterity. Every father as the head of a household has a God-given mandate which is meant to outlive him because whatever ends in one generation doesn’t originate from God. In other words, the onus lies on his descendants to continue that mandate, hence the Bible says “He shall see His Seed, He shall prolong His Days…” (Isaiah 53:10b)

All truths are parallel, hence the Father-Son Order applies not just to natural families but also spiritual families. (see Romans 1:20) This is one major truth that needs to be restored in this headless generation that attacks fathers with reckless abandon. Malachi the prophet left this grim warning about four hundred years prior to the First Coming of Christ Jesus: “Behold I will send you Elijah the prophet before the Coming of the Great and Dreadful Day of the Lord. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the Earth with a curse.” (Malachi 4:5-6)

A fatherless generation never returns from the battlefield. May the Lord grant us the grace to restore the Father-Son Order.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being such a Father to us. O Lord, please help us align according to the Father-Son Order that it might be well with us in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
