BIBLE READING:1JOHN 2:20; JOB 32:7-9; JOB 29:21-23; PROVERBS 8:10-21
How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge. Turn at My rebuke; Surely I will pour out My Spirit on you; I will make My Words known to you. Proverbs 1:22-23 (NKJV).
The Seven Spirits of God are much more than a mere drop of a Word of Knowledge, or a Word of Wisdom, or the Gift of Faith. It is an Ever-increasing River that flows constantly out of the belly or the spirit of the believer from the Lord God Almighty Himself. (see John 7:37-39) The Spirit of Knowledge gives the believer a knowing that comes from the spirit within. It brings you into a knowing as the Lord teaches you (see Isaiah 48:17).
The Spirit of Knowledge will enable you bring people into an Encounter with God, not just a head knowledge of God. By the Spirit of Knowledge, Ezra and the Levites read from the Book of The Law of God and gave meaning to it. They so expounded the Scriptures that the entire congregation of Israel wept in repentance and turned back in obedience to the Law of God and did as it was written for them (see Nehemiah 8:5-12).
The Spirit of Knowledge tends to work in tandem with the Spirit of Wisdom because Wisdom is Knowledge that is applied to create solutions. In Job 29:21-23, the words of the speaker Job fell upon the people like dew. They drew strength from the flow of knowledge from within his spirit as Proverbs 15:2 says, The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.
The Spirit of Knowledge configures your spirit in an uncommon way to gain understanding of concepts and ideas outside the scope of your study, thereby making you creative and giving you the ability to rule in the affairs of life. In Exodus 31:1-6, with the combination of the Spirit of Wisdom and Knowledge, Bezalel and his team of designers, engineers, architects and builders were able to translate the design God gave Moses during his encounter on Mount Sinai and out of that came a Glorious Tent through which God poured His Glory and tabernacled among them throughout their journey to the Promised Land.
When God opened the Vault of Knowledge to Daniel, the kings of Babylon who made gods of themselves alongside their wise men and astrologers saw knowledge in a dimension never before seen and bowed in worship to Daniel and promoted him (see Daniel 2:46). The Spirit of Knowledge promoted him to an enviable position though he was a second class citizen. He became indispensable irrespective of who the ruler was.
In Proverbs 8:10-21, you can see an interplay of the Spirit of Wisdom, Counsel and Knowledge in downloading Creative Ideas from God, in leadership, in creating enduring wealth, and in walking in the paths of righteousness. Proverbs 1:22-23 shows us that the Spirit of Wisdom and of Knowledge and of a truth all the Seven Spirits of God can be poured out on anyone who desires them.
O Lord, pour out upon me the Spirit of Knowledge, that I may become a flowing channel of Your Knowledge in all my spheres of influence in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
