BIBLE READING: JOB 22:21-30
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2Peter 3:9(NKJV)
It has never been the Lord’s desire that the people for whom He paid the supreme Price on the Cross should perish. Even when the people have wondered away from Him, as they often do, His heart’s continues to desire that His own should return to Him and experience the immeasurable depth of the Father’s love and mercy.
No matter how low you have fallen or how wide you have goofed; your wisest choice remains to return to God in humble repentance and total surrender to His will. Never yield to the temptation to hide yourself from God when you are convicted of having wronged Him. That was how Adam and Eve responded and that did not help their matter. Even then, God took off from heaven and came in search of them. The Good Shepherd does not want to record any loss of the Sheep that belong to His fold, even when such a Sheep has wondered away from the camp.
God has not disowned you because your feet slipped. He is certainly not happy with that state, but His heart still reaches out to you. That is why you need to pay closer attention to the portion of our Bible reading passage today that says, “Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace; Thereby good will come to you. Receive, please, instruction from His mouth, and lay up His words in your heart. If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; you will remove iniquity far from your tents” (Job 22:21-23).
Take the decisive step today; come out of your hiding; break out of your shell; return to the waiting embrace of your heavenly Father. He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from your unrighteousness.
• Cry out for God’s mercy, pardon and cleansing today.
Thank You Lord for your love. I return to you with humble submission and dedication to Your will.
