“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14(NKJV)

The Lord God Almighty is a God of times and seasons. The Bible refers to Him as “the High and Lofty One Who inhabits Eternity” (Isaiah 57:15a). In other words, He transcends time itself because He is an Eternal Being, hence He isn’t bound by time which is but a mere punctuation in the midst of a Perpetual Eternity. However, there are certain critical events or occurrences within time that have serious Eternal ramifications.

There are two major definitions of the word “time” which must be clearly demarcated for a better in-depth comprehension:
(1.) Chronos: This refers to time as we know it i.e., the normal calibrations of time into seconds, minutes, hours, days, etc. It is from this that the term “chronology” is derived.

(2.) Kairos: This refers to opportune moments or seasons that can have either a positive or negative impact on God’s Divine Purpose. When the Scripture tells us in Luke 4:13(KJV) that, Satan left Jesus “for a season,” that was a typical example of a Kairos moment.

One of the best Scriptures which emphasises the importance of Kairos is Ecclesiastes 3:1; “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.” God’s Divine Programme is compartmentalised into seasons which we are meant to discern per time. Just like in the natural realm, a woman’s ovulation period is the Kairos moment for her husband to plant his seed, leading to fertilization and conception. Your Kairos moment is your defining moment and the best time to take an appropriate action.

Remember: That God will never let the butler remember Joseph until Pharaoh has a dream. May the Lord cause us to maximise our Kairos moments and be found in the Centre of His Will.

Heavenly Father, thank You for opening our eyes to the Truth about Kairos. Please help us refrain from missing those defining moments in our lives that we may fulfill destiny in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
