BIBLE READING: PSALM 1
By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 15:8(NKJV).
Our Bible reading gives us a recipe for remaining fruitful all year round. Uninterrupted fruitfulness should be the desire of your heart because that is what God has planned for you. To ensure that you sustain ever increasing levels of productivity, the first counsel is that you should not seek guidance from the ungodly. The reason is simple. One cannot give you what one does not have. Since one can only give you what one has, if what one has is ungodliness, that is all you can get from that source.
Always seek counsel from the household of God whenever you have need to do so. Even when such counsel has been given, be sure that you crosscheck and be convinced that what you have received is in agreement with the Bible. Never accept to act outside the boundaries of the Word of God. That is one way to defend your productivity and guarantee your abiding fruitfulness.
Never be tempted to do what sinners are doing, even when they seem to be prospering in doing so. And never keep company with the scornful – those who mock and jest things that are too deep and too sacred for their base understanding. The passage specifies what you should do; “But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.” The reward that follows this is that, “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:2-3). Receive this and make it your portion evermore.
Pray for a renewal in your spirit that will align your thoughts and actions to do God’s will.
Lord, help me this day and ever more to make choices that delight your heart.
