BIBLE READING:JOHN 1:1-14
And without controversy, great is the Mystery of Godliness: God was manifested in the Flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by Angels, Preached unto the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in Glory. 1Timothy 3:16(NKJV).
The incarnation principle states that God became Man. Jesus Christ, though Existent before the beginning of time, was born on the Earth and dwelt among men: But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Galatians 4: 4-5.
This way, Jesus had to experience everything we experience as mankind, being tempted by the world and satan. After overcoming them all, He is now at the Right Hand of God advocating for us because He understands our pain. Hebrews 2:16-18(KJV) reiterates; For verily He took not on Him the nature of angels; but He took on Him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoves Him to be made like unto His brethren, that He might be a Merciful and Faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to succour them that are tempted.
The incarnation of Jesus Christ is so Significant as it shows the Depth of the Father’s Love for mankind. He knew that the solution to the problem of mankind was not the blood of man or animals. He required a Higher Sacrifice – the Blood of One More Supreme and of course God Himself is the Highest, so the Sacrifice could only have been made by One exactly like Him.
So God looked and when He couldn’t find another, He took his Own Son, Jesus Christ Who is the Replica of the Father (God Himself) and stuffed Him in a Human Package to pay the Ultimate Price: Who, being in the Form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men; And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the Death on the Cross.(Philippians 2:6-8 KJV).
The phrase “made Himself of no reputation” is derived from the Greek word “kenosis” which literally means “He emptied Himself and laid aside His Majesty.” For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the Sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation (Hebrews 9:26-28 KJV).
The Incarnation Principle is the basis of the Principle of Empathy, causing us to leave our comfort zone and identify with others in their sufferings just like Christ Jesus did. Christ came in the Form of Man and lived our everyday life but remained a Righteous Example, our Model for living the Victorious Christian Life. Everything we felt bodily, He also felt yet remained Righteous and without sin. He showed us that we too can live victoriously even in the world with its attractions and distractions. As Hebrews 4:14-15(KJV) echoes; Seeing then that we have a Great High Priest, that is passed into the Heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Father, I thank You for loving me unconditionally so much that You sent Jesus Your Only Begotten Son to sacrifice His Life for me. Please help me to live pleasing You. I receive the grace to live the victorious Christain life in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
