BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 4:19-20
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 1 Timothy 4:15
Believers are called to make discipleship a culture. First, to abide by every teaching of the Master (Jesus), and then secondly, to become disciple-makers by modeling the ways and teaching of the Lord to younger ones in the Faith. What a great honour! The demonstration of your obedience in abiding by Jesus teaching is the greatest proof of your faith in God.
God’s Word does what it says, and so your compliance makes “convicting” testimonies abound, capable enough to change the ways of sinners, as testimonies are more powerful than sermon.
Whenever you obey and it produces result, it convinces people more than preaching. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16” Thus, the reason much is not happening to convict the world is because there are not many obedient followers of Jesus that mirror Him and His ways. Many don’t do what the Word says.
Therefore as believers, make it a manner of life to obey, and to instruct others in the way of the Lord. “If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.” 1 Timothy 4:6
Thank you gracious Father for the privilege to be called your own. Help me to fully mirror you in my ways and dealings as long as I live in Jesus name. Amen!
