“Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.” Rev. 5:8-10 (NKJV).

One of the greatest things the Lord used Martin Luther to do for the body of Christ is that he initiated the reformation that led to the recovery of the truth of The Priesthood of all Believers. The truth that every believer is a priest was lost for hundreds of years. If you have yielded your life to Christ, let it settle in you that you are a priest as well as a king.

As a priest, you are a mediator between God and men. You are the one whose duty it is to carry the burdens of men to God, and deliver God’s answers to the people. A priest deals with spiritual things. He deals with spirits; he deals with deities.

It is a universal truth that the spiritual world controls the physical world. As a priest, your duty is to sort issues out in the unseen world. You do this for yourself and for the people you represent before God. A priest sees the invisible and hears from the intangible. This truth calls for caution on your part. You have to ensure that you are constantly hooked to God through unbroken fellowship, prayer and study of the word of God. If you lose your grip on God, the devil can feed you with his deadly lies delivered in attractive packages.

Always subject the revelations you receive to a test by the word of God.
God will never ask you to do anything that His word does not approve. As a priest, you are the eyes, the ears and the heart of the people unto God. You have to be sure that those eyes; ears and heart are consistently focussed and anchored on God.

• Worship God and consecrate your life to Him for effective, relentless service.

• Pray for believers to arise and embrace their priestly responsibilities.

I yield my heart afresh to You, Lord. Help me to keep my focus on You always.
