BIBLE READING: 1 CORINTHIANS 1:20-29
Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences. 2 Cor. 5:9-11(NKJV).
It is easy to find excuses for not doing as much as we should in reaching out for souls and getting them established in the kingdom of God. Whatever the excuses you may have, those that did exploits in the past and those that are doing so presently all had their challenges which could have formed formidable excuses, but they had to overcome them.
Is your excuse that you are weak, feeble and without resources? Here is a word of inspiration to encourage you “God uses men and women who are weak enough to lean on Him.” This view is reinforced in our bible reading passage today, “God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.” (1 Cor. 1:27).
God is not looking for mighty men of means and stature to engage into His service. Instead, He is looking for just any one – big or small; strong or weak – who will be sufficiently emptied of self to rely on Him for supply of strength, means and passionately committed to the assignment. A renowned soul winner adds another angle to this discourse. He says, “The more obstacles you have, the more opportunities there are for God to do something.”
The call to take the good news to all the ends of the world is a universal call to all believers. As another soul winner instructed “The gospel is only good news if it gets there on time.” There is no excusable excuse for not getting involved in the execution of the Great Commission. The Lord had you and I in mind when Jesue commissioned us to reconcile men back to God. And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15 (NKJV).
• Repent for the excuses you give for not winning souls.
• Pray for a fresh baptism of fire that will quicken you, your household and your Church members to go for lost souls.
• Pray for redirection of focus of believers worldwide.
From heaven, My Lord came to save me. I will go to the ends of the earth to find and reconcile the lost.
