BIBLE READING: LUKE 14:27-35
“For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it – lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? Luke 14:28-30(NKJV).
The world is yet to see the greatest move of God upon the face of the earth. She is yet to see the most bountiful harvest of souls into God’s kingdom. If Jesus tarries, the greatest inventions made by man are yet to be unearthed. The greatest organisations, businesses, charities, innovations, architectural edifices and social networks are yet to be birthed. The interesting part of this reality is that the vessel God will use to bring them into being is you that is reading these lines right now.
No human being in the present age or in the age to come is better equipped than you are to accomplish great things for God and mankind. The Dominion Mandate series makes you understand that you are first a spirit being by reason of the indwelling presence of God inside you. Then you are a human being which makes you a legitimate representative of God on earth. (Genesis 1:26; 2:7).
As you step out to conquer your world, you have to count the cost of what you are venturing into; then you can be surefooted in its pursuit. J. F. Kennedy did exactly the same in the space project he executed. He said to the people, “Let it be clear that I am asking the Congress and the country to accept a firm commitment to a new course of action, a course which will last for many years and carry very heavy costs: 531 million dollars in fiscal year ’62–an estimated 7 to 9 billion dollars additional over the next five years.”
Count the cost, but don’t be deterred. “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23). Take steps of faith this year, don’t be afraid of failing because God will back you up by honouring your faith.
• Take stock of the numerous gifts God has endowed you with and thank Him for them.
• Commit your life to greater service to God and man.
The extraordinary God in me has empowered me to do extraordinary things. Together, we cannot fail because God has never failed and cannot start failing with me.
