“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28 (NKJV)

The “Blessing” is the Supernatural Empowerment to prosper. The opposite of the Blessing is the “Curse” which is Supernatural Empowerment to fail. To understand the full intent and extent of the Blessing, you have to return to where it was expressed in the creation of man. In the Garden of Eden, God’s intent was for man to have dominion over the whole earth(Genesis 1:26-28). God brought His Blessing into the earth by speaking.

This same Blessing spoken over Adam(Genesis 1:28) was spoken to Noah and his sons after the flood (Genesis 9:1) – “So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth”(NKJV). The Blessing was also spoken to Abraham and his descendants….(Genesis 12:2-3) I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (NKJV)

The Priest Melchizedek also pronounced the Blessing on Abraham after he gave him a Tithe of the victory God granted him(Genesis 14:18- 20). The Original Eden Blessing to be fruitful and walk in Dominion was the last thing Jesus spoke to His disciples (Luke 24:49-50; Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16: 16-18). God’s system of Blessing is clearly illustrated in Proverbs 10:22 which says “The blessing of the Lord – it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it]. (AMP) God’s Blessing does not come with sorrow neither does it come by toiling.

The Blessing is different from blessings. The “Blessing” can be likened to be the tree while blessings the fruits. When you have the Blessing of God on your life, the blessings will follow. The Blessing of God is available to everyone who would believe and receive Jesus’ victory over the curse of sin and death (Gal 3:7-9, 13-14,29) “Therefore know that only those who are of faith, are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, *”In you all the nations shall be blessed.” So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”(NKJV)

The Curse cannot be activated on a man’s life unless something is done to attract it…. Prov.26.2 “Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest. (NIV). The same way the Blessing even though it is available for everyone who is in Christ needs to be activated for its fruits to be seen in your life.

The major way to activate the blessing is to have a Covenant Walk with God which involves loving God through keeping His commandments (Walking in Love and getting involved in the Great Commission) and Trusting Him. Another way to keep the blessing activated over your life is to enter into a financial covenant with God. A covenant that begins with you paying your tithes and offerings faithfully. “Bring ye the whole tithe into the store-house, that there may be food in my house, and prove me now herewith, saith Jehovah of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” ‭‭Malachi‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭ASV‬‬
