BIBLE READING: 3 JOHN 1-8
And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity. As it is written and forever remains written. “He [the benevolent and generous person] scattered abroad, he gave to the poor, His righteousness endures forever!” Now He who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed for sowing [that is, your resources] and increase the harvest of your righteousness [which shows itself in active goodness, kindness, and love] 2 Cor. 9:8-10(AMP).
In our Bible reading today, we came across one the most commonly quoted verses in the Holy Scripture. Verse 2 says, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers (NKJV). Getting you blessed is God’s joy and delight. His earnest desire for you is that you should prosper and be in good health. He also expects that you should prosper in your soul first, and then in all the other aspects of your life.
Don’t be among the Christians who spend years asking God to bless them, yet they do not take some time to develop action plans and follow those plans to fruitful completion. God’s covenant grace upon your life is there to bless the works of your hands. God will never rain bundles of money into your bedroom no matter how long you pray and fast. Instead, when you connect to Him through prayer and worship, He releases to you guidance and ideas that will lead you to something to do and make money. Most times, what He will lead you to do is to provide an answer or a solution to a problem that has been lingering. In providing such solution, you also find a provision that will bless and distinguish your life.
In 2 Timothy 3:7, the Bible described some people as – Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. If you make a list of the seminars, workshops and trainings you have attended, you may come to the understanding that what you are lacking has really not been knowledge but the will to put what you know into use.
It is time to put the great things you have learnt over the years to use. Yes, it is time to stop begging and start doing a taking steps and watch God multiply and magnify your efforts.
• Pray for self-discipline that produces self-confidence.
• Ask for strength in your inner man to take action.
By the power in the name of Jesus, I come out of my shell. I begin to do works that God will bless.
